What’s Inside…
The Secret | How To Wake Up Early
Want to know the secret to the morning people that wake up early, get a ton done before most people are awake and have a smile on their face the whole time?
Here it is… it’s a commitment to a morning routine that works for them.
Your normal morning might look like this:
Your alarm goes off. You hit the snooze button and try to go back to sleep. Sleep may evade you or that rest that your body is telling you it needs may happen for a bit longer. You might even snooze several times.
Now, you’re running late so you rush through your morning to get out the door on time.
Que your “go-to” outfits you wear on a regular basis because hey, you don’t have to think about it. In goes a granola bar (if you’re lucky) and you’re off!
As much as you love your sleep and despise getting going in the morning, you don’t like starting your day off with chaos.
Rest assured, this does not need to be your norm. You can even wake up early, feeling rested and ready to take on the day!
It All Starts With Your Night Routine
Yep, the beginning of a good day starts the night before you go to sleep.
To set yourself up for a successful day, you only need to do a few small things that will have a HUGE impact on your morning.
When you start your morning with a plan and a solid morning routine your day will be more productive because you start off feeling accomplished rather than rushed.
Doing these two simple things in the evening will completely change how your morning routine goes!
Pick out your entire outfit the night before. The whole thing… including shoes, accessories, etc. If you are a person that wants choices, set out two options.
If they require steaming be sure to take care of that the night before too.
Next, prep your breakfast for the next morning. If you’re having fresh fruit and oatmeal, prep your fruit and put it in the fridge. Then, set out everything you need for your oats so you are ready to go.
You are much less likely to eat that unhealthy breakfast you flock to when you’re in a rush. Or, even worse, skip breakfast all together.
Set Your Alarm
Setting your alarm seems like a no-brainer, right? The thing is, you want to set your alarm to at least an hour earlier than you would normally get up.
By prepping your outfit and breakfast the night before AND waking up an hour earlier you will start your day on your own terms.
No more being held hostage by your alarm clock.
Over time you will even find yourself waking up just as or just before your alarm clock goes off.
I know it seems impossible now, but stick to it and you will be amazed at the difference it makes in having a productive day where you feel good about yourself.
Make Your Bed
You did it! You got up, you got out of your comfy bed. Now, make it.
It seems like a small thing but let this be the second productive thing you do this morning. (Getting up was the first)
There is something about looking at your freshly made bed that gives you a sense of accomplishment and productivity first thing in the morning.
That productivity will set you up for success as you continue into the rest of your day!
Drink Water
I am a coffee girl all the way, so I know drinking water before your coffee doesn’t sound all that appealing.
The reality is, it’s really good for you.
Your body needs that water first thing in the morning.
TIP: Do you know you’re likely to skip drinking water in the morning? If so, put a bottle of water by your sink or by the bed before you go to bed. You’re more likely to drink it if it’s sitting there waiting for you when you wake up early in the morning.
Meditation and Working Out
Take a few minutes for a morning meditation or prayer.
Focus on deep breathing exercises with your eyes closed to block out any distractions.
Visualize yourself successfully completing your workout for the day. Even if you’re starting your day with stretching instead of working out.
If you’re looking for inspiration check out the Aura App! It’s amazing and has options for prayer, meditation, music, you name it!
Tidy Up Your Space
It only takes 5-10 minutes of picking up each morning to ensure your day is relaxing and organized.
Rather than waiting until you get home after a long day, make sure your home is tidy before you go to work. You will be so happy you did!
Nothing crazy, just pick up as you go through your home.
Get Ready For The Day
Next, go ahead and get ready for the day. Shower, get dressed, and eat the breakfast you prepared last night.
This whole process will take a third of the time since you prepared already!
Not only will you feel great, you can start your day looking amazing too!
Focus On A Positive Mindset
As you get ready for the day, intentionally focus on a positive mindset.
See yourself being successful today. Whatever big thing you’re tackling today, reassure yourself by thinking it through step by step.
Tell yourself, “one step at a time I will successfully get through my day.”
Focusing on a positive mindset throughout your morning routine is a great way to increase your productivity and stay committed to your self care.
Plan The Day
If you haven’t been using a planner, be sure to start your day off with a to-do list.
Using a planner is a great way to set yourself up for success. If you don’t use a planner you are probably making commitments with the best of intentions but not enough time to complete them.
This is my favorite planner! It has everything you need to plan your day without being so detailed that it overwhelms you.

How To Wake Up Early And Not Feel Tired
Waking up early can be completely overwhelming to even think about. It’s not easy to get up early when you have a busy day ahead of you.
The key to waking up early and not feeling tired is to prepare the night before and stick to an amazing morning routine.
As you commit to your morning routine, give yourself some grace when you slip up.
Whatever you do, don’t quit. It takes time to turn a routine into a habit.
Stick with it! You’ve got this.
In no time you’ll be waking up before your alarm and looking forward to your morning routine.
