How to Use Daily Self Reflection Questions
I am a HUGE believer in the power of journaling and actually taking the time to write your thoughts and feelings on a daily basis.
All too often it’s way easier to let your thoughts flow while writing in response to journal prompts than to actually say them out loud.
Using self reflection journal prompts to guide your writing can be life changing if you allow it to be. First and foremost this is an excellent way to focus on your self care. If you’ve read any of my posts before, you know this is one of the most important things you can do for yourself.
Here are four of my best tips to help you use your self reflection questions and maximize your personal benefit from them.
Journal As A Part of Your Evening Routine
If you want to focus on self reflection and mindfulness as a part of your normal daily practice, use these daily self reflection journal prompts in the evening.
I have a whole post about having an evening routine that you can read here.
When you write in your journal as a part of your evening routine it is easier to reflect on your day. This is also helpful if you have a tendency to write about the same thing no matter how much you try to focus on new topics.
Be Consistent
Whatever you do, be consistent! Daily self reflection journal prompts can only do so much on their own.
Once you’ve built in time to do your daily journal, be sure to set aside a few minutes every day to do it.
As far as the questions go, pick a few that you really want to focus on and answer those daily. This will allow you to keep track of your improvement, changes and feel good about the time you’ve dedicated to your daily journal practice.
Power Of Writing Things Down
This may seem completely foreign and less efficient, but there is great power in physically writing things down. Like, actually writing them, with a pen or pencil.
When you write things down by hand your brain is forced to engage with what you are writing. This is not always true when you’re typing.
There are tons of resources available to get journal pages that are printable (Etsy is a great resource). Check out these options for printable journal prompts & journal pages.
Give Yourself Grace
Most important of all, remember, you are human! You are an imperfect human and you’re going to slip up.
When you do, just pick up where you left off. Enjoy the time that you set aside to journal and you’ll be less likely to slip up. BUT, when you do, just start using your daily self reflection journal prompts again like you were before you stopped.
Self Discovery Through Daily Self Reflection Journal Prompts
You’ll be using your daily journal and loving it in no time! Just remember to use your daily self reflection journal prompts and self reflection questions to experience true self discovery.
Whatever you do, just remember to add journaling to your evening routine, be consistent and write it down. You’ve got this! You’re on the way to change your life through your journey of self discovery and personal growth.
